I had never been to Singapore before so I looked forward to this trip a lot ! Singapore welcomed us immensely. We could witness the incredible developing of this country on the way from Changi airport to the hotel where we stayed 7 days in the city center, how beautiful streets are, how convenient the transportations are and how fresh SG is.
I and my fellows from Vietnam were accessed to STEM education for the first time. We attended many interesting workshops about mindset, prototype, mindfulness, technology,.. and we had to use all the knowledge we learnt to make the prototype presentation about soluting SDGs of UN.
In addition, we could improve soft skills such as teamwork, presentation skill, communication through working with other ASEAN countries students. This is my first time i’ve used English as the primary language of communication. I was impressive on how the staff worked. They were really friendly and professional, always ready give us a favor when we needed help.
We also have visited various important places in SG like Garden by the bays, Marina Barrage, Merlion, Science center,… we had a chance to try local food and I loved ‘sate’ – a typical street food in SG most.
The most important thing was i met many great friends from ASEAN countries who are very young but talented and potential. We shared with each other ideas, inspirit and friendship although we have different nationalities, languages, religion and culture. I could learn immensely from them, how confident they are, the way they think. Luckily, we keep in touch until now and we still support each other!
I feel grateful to have this chance to visit Singapore and could learn many wonderful things. I can being more confident, believe in myself and follow my dream! Thank you Science center SG, Temasek Foundation International and UEL so much!
